Truth and Reconciliation is an important topic for ATRF, and last year we set out on our journey towards reconciliation.

In the past year, we have taken on a number of initiatives, including the creation of our Land Acknowledgement statement. We have respectfully integrated this statement into our communications within our organization, and also as we connect externally with our many members and stakeholders.

We also launched a goal for our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and staff to complete the Indigenous Canada course offered through the University of Alberta. The course is extensive and covers important history and current perspectives of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. We are happy to announce that 100% of ELT completed the course, and 36% of staff did, as well. These numbers are significant to us, and demonstrate our commitment to learning about how we can contribute to meaningful change, with and for Indigenous Peoples.
