ATRF Appoints New Vice President, Investments & Funding

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Tambone as ATRF’s Vice President, Investments & Funding. Andrew joined ATRF in August, 2024, to lead and oversee the investment strategy and funding for the pension plan. With over 30 years of experience in the institutional investment industry, Andrew brings a proven track record of success to our team.

His background includes 15 years with The Workers’ Compensation Board – Alberta in the roles of Chief Investment Officer and Head of Fixed Income Investments, serving as the Chief Risk Officer with Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), and most recently was Chief Investment Officer with the Special Forces Pension Plan.

Andrew has also served as a Board member, Investment Committee Chair, and as an external member of the Investment Committee for Alberta based pension plans. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Westminster, London, England, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Andrew’s expertise in investment strategy and plan funding oversight will be invaluable in developing and implementing investment strategies that align with our plans’ objectives. His leadership and experience will be a great asset to our team and our pension plans – and our members should be pleased to know their investments are in such good, expert hands.
