Annual Plan Member Statement Mailing

Paper copies of the annual plan member statements for active teachers will be mailed in the spring of 2024 after all employers have submitted their finalized year-end data to ATRF. Members who are inactive for more than two years will continue to receive their annual plan member statement in the summer.

If you would like to view your annual plan member statement earlier, a digital copy will be available through your MyPension account shortly after your employer submits their finalized year-end data to ATRF.

How YMPE and Maximum Pensionable Salary Impact Your Contributions

The Year’s Maximum Pensionable Earnings (YMPE) is an amount set annually by the Federal government to establish the maximum salary on which you must contribute to the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Quebec Pension Plan (QPP).

Every January 1, the YMPE changes, impacting the amount you contribute to the teachers’ pension plan. Your plan takes the YMPE into consideration in your member contribution and pension formulas.

Taking a Retirement Transition Package

If you and your employer are considering a retirement transition package, it’s important that you follow the necessary steps in the correct order.

  1. Confirm directly with your employer that you are accepting their retirement transition package before their deadline.
  1. You must then apply directly to ATRF for your pension before your new teaching contract begins.
  1. Begin your new contract while receiving your pension.
