Changes to ATRF Forms
In case you missed it, ATRF simplified the pension application form and process effective April 1, 2023.
An e-blast was sent on March 31 detailing the changes which combined the Spousal/Pension Partner Status Declaration with the Pension Application form. We also no longer require a Commissioner for Oaths or Notary Public to witness the member’s signature. More information is available on our website.
As a result of this change, you can evaluate whether it is still necessary to retain a Commissioner for Oaths on your staff since we have discontinued the Spousal/Pension Partner Status Declaration. The spousal waiver form still needs to be commissioned but is not as commonly used.
This change also highlights the importance of not retaining outdated ATRF forms and information sheets. Since our documents are updated regularly, it is always best to direct members to our website or have them contact us for up-to-date information. If a member submits an outdated form, we may ask them to re-submit it using the correct form. This causes additional work for the member, and we want to ensure their experience is as seamless as possible.
