We are seeking a Manager, Investment Finance to join our dynamic, team-oriented organization.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Finance, this position will lead the Private Markets Team, ensuring the effective provision of investment operations functions to enable the management of ATRF's pension investment assets, focusing on private market assets. The Manager, Investment Finance directly supports the effective operations of the private markets investment portfolios - Real Estate, Private Equity and Private Infrastructure - and supports the broader responsibilities of the Investment Finance group as a whole.
The Team's primary responsibilities include: operations functions to coordinate cash and liquidity requirements; transaction processing and settlement; investment onboarding and asset valuation; administration and reporting; elements of risk management and reporting; and service and relationship management. Other Team responsibilities relate to ensuring the successful delivery of services to support the administration of private market assets, including: onboarding of new transactions; setup of new investments within various internal systems; accurate administration, execution and reporting of cash flows; production of or contribution to portfolio level reporting; and involvement in complex accounting transactions.
The Manager, Investment Finance will develop effective personal relationships and partner with key individuals across the organization, including persons who are stakeholders in business processes stewarded by the Team as well as leaders who steward business processes where Investment Finance has a stakeholder interest. In particular, the position will manage the collaboration with the Investment teams, Investment Accounting, Corporate Finance, Legal and others to ensure that private market investments are appropriately measured and accounted for, reported and disclosed in operational, risk and performance reporting and, ultimately, in ATRF's external financial statements.
This Manager position will also play a critical role in establishment of new processes and deliverables and in driving improvement to current processes and deliverables through provision of strong leadership with clear and consistent direction to the Team and by application of effective change and project management techniques.
The successful applicant will have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum 6 years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a people leadership role. Further, applicants should have 5 years of applicable work experience within investment finance operations, including a minimum of 3 years with private market investments. An industry-relevant designation (CFA, CAIA, CBV, CPA) is strongly preferred; active registration with substantial progress towards completion of such designation is required.
